PHARMAKON: Drug Prescribing, the Internet and Globalisation |
|
|
This a web site which asks some questions about the impact of the Internet and the global economy on the prescribing of pharmaceutical drugs. It is part of a University research project, funded by the UK government. We want to learn how people use the Internet to find out about pharmaceuticals and even buy them, and how the global market is aiding this. We also want to know about consumer demand for pharmaceutical drugs. The internet can be a useful place to find businesses in your area that provide health services such as a dentist in Manchester . Unfortunately the internet is also used for shadier practices such as the selling of prescription drugs which is why Pharmakon was established to understand how easier they can be obtained online. The internet has impacted people’s lives in other ways too. Now, buying a first aid dressing or finding information regarding its application can be done entirely online. Buying almost anything can now be completed online including HSE compliant first aid kits . The freedom of information on the internet also gives consumers greater power when searching for products in relation to reviews and price comparison. If you are interested in this, because you are someone who has used the Internet to find out about or buy pharmaceutical drugs, or you are a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, health manager or other health care professional, please explore this site.
